Frequently Asked Questions

  • Safety & Risks

Some of the workshops will carry a risk of possible injury and even death if careless. The host will make every reasonable effort to keep you from injuring or killing yourself or someone else or be injured or killed by someone. It is your responsibility not to injure yourself or someone else. Pretty much like driving a car, if you know what I mean. Don't do stupid shit and listen to advice. If you do, then all should be okay. If you don't, then a trip to the hospital might be required.

You will receive an email once you've booked a workshop telling you what to bring, and outlining potential safety hazzards and risks. Please don't forget to bring the shit you've been instructed to. This might include stuff like proper fitting gloves, eye protection etc. The reason why, in some cases, you will need to bring your own, is to make sure it fits properly and if provided it might not fit properly, due to your physical size, which could increase the risk of getting injured.

This email will also cover minimum physical capability and health in order to participate in some or all of the activities. If after you've booked your spot you feel that some of the requirements disqualifies you from attending, you will receive a full refund if a you cancel within 48 hours. If you decide to cancel after 48 hours, your request for cancellation will be assessed personally and based on various factors a decision to do a full or partial refund will be made by the host. The decision of the host as to any refunds is final and no further discussions in relation to the matter will be entered into and by booking in the first place you acknowledge that you've read this and that there will be no recourse and that this is part of my Terms & Conditions. This is not me being an asshole, but because there are extremely limited spots for each workshop, if you leave it too long before cancelling, you might have denied someone else the opportunity to attend. Fair enough?

  • Indemnity

You will be required to sign an indemnity form on the day, fully indemnifying me, the host and any other attendees from any claims, injuries or recourse. If you are not prepared to sign it, then don't come. Simple.

  • Payment

When you book your workshop, you will ONLY need to pay a 50% reservation fee online. The balance owed is payable IN CASH, (No Eftpos or EFT) on the day. Please make sure you have the right amount of cash when you arrive.

  • Expulsion

If you do anything that might endanger anyone else, have a bad attitude, maliciously damage property or just being a cunt in general, you will be asked nicely to leave. If you don't, you will be removed. No refunds will be provided and you will be banned from attending any other workshops. At the end of the day, we all want to have a pleasant experience, learn from one another and enjoy the day, so please come with a good attitude.

Other stuff you might want to know

Before contacting me, please first see if your question is answered below or if a corncern or request you might have is addressed.

  • I want to cancel. Would I get a refund?

If you've booked your reservation before the reservation cutoff date (2 weeks before the date of the workshop) then you can cancel and get a full refund.

If you want to cancel your reservation after the reservation cutoff date (2 weeks before the date of the workshop) but more than 48 hours before the date of the workshop, then you'll receive a partial refund (cost of material, tools or equipment will be deducted if it were included in the price).

Requests for cancellation and refunds within 48 hours of the workshop will be dealt with on a case by case basis. The decision to refund in full or partially will be at the sole discretion of the host and will be final once a decision is reached by the host.

  • Some shit hit the fan. It's past the cancellation cutoff and I won't be able to attend. Can I ask for a refund or attend on another day?

Because of limited available spots, and specific circuimstances, I might be able to do a refund or accommodate you on another date. No promises though.

  • I attended your workshop and think it was shit. I demand a refund!

Well, if you start with this type of attitude you won't get far. I am a reasonable guy. If you feel that strongly then we could discuss a possible solution like adults. If you can't, then tough luck! if you attended and didn't raise any concerns with the host on the day, ate the food I provided or have been an idiot the chances are very low that you'll get a refund, let alone being allowed back to attend any other workshops.

  • Where are workshops held?

Currently, at my rural propoerty just outside Beenleigh Queensland, Australia.

  • Do you offer workshops elsewhere or do you travel to do workshops?

Not currently, but please feel free to reach out to me. I might be able to.

  • What dates are workshops on?

Each workshop has the date it will be held on in the description. Workshops which do not have a definitive date allocated are subject to prior workshops being held and potentially could be negotiated with prospective attendees to best suit the majority.

  • Do you offer kids workshops?

No, not currently but please contact me to discuss. I promise I'll keep my language appropriate should I be hosting any kids workshops.

  • I am not that young anymore, could I attend?

Yes, absolutely! Preferably, contact me to discuss if you have any concerns.

  • Are there any safety risks?

Yes there are. Please read the disclaimer above.

  • Should I bring anything with me?

Yes. Bring water, a hat and sunscreen if you want to prevent sunburn. Anything else will depend on the specific workshop. You will receive an email outlining specifics when you book a reservation,. Things might include a camping chair, neat fitting garden or leather gloves and safety glasses, but you will be notified what you need to bring well in advance.

If you have any specific dietry requirements you might have to bring your own lunch but it would be best to discuss it with me in advance to see if I would be able to accommodate your requirements.

  • What should I wear?

It is essential that you wear fully enclosed shoes, preferably safety boots (not mandatory). Wear long pants made from cotton or similar, suitable for walking through long grass and in the bush. A pair of denim pants are fine.

  • What is provided on the day?

All material and tools required for you to participate in the day's activities are included in the price and provided on the day. Some workshops have a prerequisite of attendance which means you would have been provided tools and knowledge which would be required for the specific workshop. If you are still unclear, contact me in order for me to clarify.

  • Can I book as a couple or bring a partner?

Yes, you can at a cost of $50 payable on the day per person (Limited Couple spots available). Limmited to one partner per attendee. If you bring a partner, you will only receive one set of tools, material and/or equipment to share between you. Lunch will be provided for both you and your partner. It is important to notify me in advance that you will be bringing a partner along, else only one of you will get lunch. Better to book your couple spot in advance ($25 Reservation online + $25 cash on the day).

  • Can I drag my pet with me?

    No.

  • Can I bring my child or children with me?

It depends on the workshop. Best to get in contact with me to determine if it would be okay beforehand.

  • I have special dietary requirements. Could I be specially catered for during lunch to suit my requirements?

The best is to contact me and depending on your requirements, I might be able to accomodate you, but that will depend on what your requirements are.

  • I don't want the tools or material included in the price. Can I get a discount if I don't take it or don't want it?

No. Tools and material are provided and included in the price to ensure everyone is equiped to do the day's activities and there are no fucking around. The tools you will get are excellent quality and would serve you well to have in any case.

  • I haven't done one or more of the workshops which are a prerequisite to attend the workshop I want to. Can I still attend or book it?

I know this might sound unreasonable, but in general the answer is no, but I am happy to discuss it with you in person to try and work out a solution that will work for you without placing unduly demands or disruption on the day's programme. This needs to be assessed on an individual basis to see if an accomodation could be made. No promises though. You will need to send an email with your request and include your phone number. If I am able to and have time, I will phone you to discuss options.

  • I find your language offensive, would you please tone it down?

Really? Listen snowflake, if a little bit of rough language upset you then how are you going to cope with killing a bunny if you have to? Grow up. This is about survival if the shit hits the fan.
